Welcome to Shelton Peruvian Horses. We are very pleased to share with you our wonderful Peruvian Horses. The owners, Ken and Victoria Shelton, have some of the top breeding stock in the Peruvian breed. Shelton Farm Peruvians is located on a 160 acre farm in North Alabama that Ken has owned for over 30 years. Since Ken and Vicky have combined their horses, several new pastures and stall facilities have been added to the property.
Currently, the Sheltons have about 50 horses. These horses represent great crosses from the best of the south with the best of the north and the best of Cayalti and the best of Lima. The horses are well bred, well mannered, well trained and great for riding or showing.
We have a select number of horses for sale for Show, Pleasure and Trail. Visitors are always welcome! For more information, please click on the links above or call us at 256-778-7447 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Peruvian horse is a truly unique breed of horse--a non-trotting breed that can guarantee it's natural gait to each and every offspring. A pure bred Peruvian will always inherit the lateral four-beat gait.
For knowledgeable horsemen, the Peruvian Paso is an enigmatic blend of extremes. He has the spirit and fire of the old Spanish breeds and yet is noted for tractability.
The Peruvian is a smooth gaited horse with a stylish natural action. It is one of the few breeds that never wears a shoe. Shoes are prohibited in shows and all horses are shown barefoot.
